Ingredients

  • All-purpose flour
  • Instant yeast
  • Sugar
  • Coconut milk
  • Cardamom
  • Salt
  • Egg (optional)
  • Frying oil

Method

  1. Mix flour, yeast, sugar, cardamom, and salt; add coconut milk to form a soft dough.

  2. Knead briefly and let the dough rise until doubled, about 1 hour.

  3. Knock back and roll to 1 cm thick.

  4. Cut into triangles or rounds.

  5. Fry at 180 °C until puffed and golden, turning once.

  6. Drain and serve warm with chai.
