- Baking powder
- Salt
- Warm water
- Neutral frying oil
Method
Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and warm water into a soft dough; rest 30 minutes.
Divide into balls and pat or stretch each into a thin disc with a hole in the center.
Heat oil to 190 °C in a heavy pot, checking with a thermometer.
Fry each disc 1-2 minutes per side until puffed and golden.
Drain on paper towels.
Serve warm with honey, powdered sugar, or savory toppings.
