- Golden syrup
- Butter
- Baking soda
- Boiling water
Method
Combine oats, flour, coconut, and sugar in a bowl.
Melt butter with golden syrup.
Stir baking soda into a tablespoon of boiling water and add it to the syrup — it will foam up immediately.
Pour the foaming mixture into the dry ingredients and mix.
Place spaced spoonfuls on a lined tray.
Bake at 175 °C for 12-15 minutes until deep gold; they firm as they cool.
