Precise Stoichiometric Ratio Control

How it works in the lab
Synthetic chemists calculate reagent masses from the balanced equation and set up reactions with a precise limiting reagent and often a slight excess of the cheaper partner, because ratios determine both yield and what byproducts form. Off-ratio mixtures leave unreacted starting material that complicates purification or drive side reactions that lower purity. Getting the ratio right at the start is far cheaper than fixing a bad mixture afterward.

How it shows up in baking
